Simon Higgins is a London-based Casting Director working across film and television in the UK and internationally.

After beginning his career as an actor, Simon spent several years honing his craft alongside acclaimed Casting Directors Dan Hubbard CDG CSA and Olivia Scott-Webb CDG CSA, playing an integral role in shaping the casts of some of the industry's most prestigious studio features and premium television productions.
His work includes Neil Forsyth's Netflix series Legends, Richard Linklater's Academy Award-nominated Blue Moon, Netflix's My Oxford Year, BBC drama The Gold (Series 2), Amazon's Jack Ryan: Ghost War, and Guy Ritchie's In the Grey and Fountain of Youth.
Since launching his own casting office, Simon has built a varied body of work, working with both emerging and established filmmakers to find the right actors to tell their stories.
Recent projects include Death and the Penguin, directed by Oscar/BAFTA-nominated, Golden Globe-winning filmmaker Ari Folman; the sequel to Villain for Sharp House Productions; Eddie Is Box, the debut feature from acclaimed commercial director Scott Lyon; and Tidepools, directed by Marius D'Gasco, with whom he is currently collaborating on a second feature.

Harry has worked in the Film and TV Industry for over 15 years. He initially started working as an Agents Assistant and became an agent in his own right with his own list before moving into Casting to fulfil his passion of crafting exceptional casts. Our next guest is casting associate Millie Hooper. Millie is currently at Rachel Freck Casting. She started her career with Casting Director Gemma Sykes, after an internship with Dan Hubbard. She then moved over to talent management, and spent nearly two years at Independent Talent Group, before joining Sam Jones Casting at the beginning of 2020. She is currently working on projects for Amazon, ITV, the BBC and The National.

Join us for the very first Mixing Community Short Film Screening at the Mixing Networks studio!

This isn’t a film festival or a competition, it’s simply a relaxed evening to celebrate the incredible work being created by our community. We know so many actors are also writing, directing and creating independent short films! This is a chance for us all to come together, watch each other’s work and show our support.

We’ll be screening a selection of 5–6 short films on the TV in our studio, so grab your favourite drink (BYOB!) and settle in for a great evening of independent filmmaking and community.

Doors open at 7:00pm.

This is an unique one-day workshop between Mixing Networks and The London Meisner Company.
Designed for actors seeking to refine their on-screen presence, this workshop blends the emotional depth and authenticity of the Meisner approach with practical skills for delivering compelling performances in front of the camera.

**Objective:**
To equip actors with the tools to create truthful, emotionally connected performances using the Meisner technique, while translating these skills into effective on-camera acting for film, television, and digital media.

**Key Learning Outcomes:**
- Understand the fundamentals of the Meisner technique, including emotional availability and listening and apply Meisner principles specifically to the demands of on-screen acting.
- Understand camera awareness, framing, and technical considerations for film and TV performance.
- Enhance confidence in making bold, authentic choices in front of the camera.

The day will consist of:

- A morning of doing Meisner exercises with Founder and Owner of The London Meisner Company Robyn Paterson. These will include Tone work, Single Word Repetition, Calling on Behaviour, Calling on Behaviour and Repetition with the text. The aim being to help free up your work.

- Lunch break

- An afternoon working with founder and owner of Mixing Networks Michael Gamarano Singleton on a chosen scene. Actors will be given a scene to prepare and work alongside each other on camera. They will be using the techniques given to them in the morning to help free up their screen technique and work with a director to guide them through the scene.

Originally from Liverpool, Connor has been working in casting with Shaheen Baig Casting since 2021, contributing to a range of independent films and projects for streamers and terrestrial television. Connor is a graduate of the first cohort of the NFTS Casting course. His background includes drama school training and experience working with young people to engage them in the arts.

Rae Hendrie is a Casting Director who has been working in casting in tv and film for the last 10 years. In 2022, after 7 years at Julie Harkin Casting, Rae has started her own company, Rae Casting. She has worked with Jill Trevellick, Nina Gold and Nicky Bligh. TV projects which she has worked on recently include Fortitude (SKY Atlantic), War and Peace (BBC) and Lucky Man series 1 (SKY 1).
