Find out all you need to know about winter car wrapping maintenance.
1. How to use a car wash
The best way to clean a vehicle with vinyl wrap is by hand washing. Car washes are too harsh and can cause the vinyl edges to peel. You should use a bucket and hose to wash the vinyl wrap.
2. Using High-Pressure Wash
You can pressure wash a vinyl-wrapped car but you should follow certain guidelines to avoid the wrap peeling. If you are pressure washing vinyl, ensure that the pressure is not higher than 2000 psi or 14 MPa. Or 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). Keep the sprayer a minimum of 1 foot from the vehicle when spraying.(Purple Car Wrap)
3. Cleaning Products that are not Effective
Choose products that won't compromise the quality and durability of your vinyl wrapping. Avoid using the following products:
Oil-based cleaners
Cleansers for the kitchen and bathroom
Oven cleaner
Engine degreaser
Solvents
Professionals suggest using waterless cleaning products, diluted isopropyl ethanol in water or warm soapy water.
4. Leave Difficult Stains Drying for a Long Period
It is important to remove any small but stubborn stains as soon as possible. If you leave them on the wrap for too long, they can damage it permanently. Over time, stains such as bird poop or tree sap become harder to remove.
